Helping Veterans Is Our Mission
No one cares more for veterans than VFS.
We saw a need for specially educated funeral professionals to advocate for America’s veterans and ensure that they receive the benefits they have earned. Unlike civilians, many of our former service members have earned monetary benefits for burial or cremation, military memorial items, ceremonial honors, and the right to choose a VA cemetery for their final resting place.
Every Veteran’s Funeral Specialist (VFS) is trained and certified in the complexities of making funeral, burial, and memorialization plans for former service members. It is our mission to guide veterans through the complicated bureaucracy to obtain the maximum benefits they are entitled to receive.
Our nationwide network of funeral homes has a VFS ready to assist you with immediate, imminent, or preplan funeral arrangements. This specialized service is our gift to those who bravely served our nation.
Code of Ethics
Along with specialized training and continuous education, every Veteran’s Funeral Specialist pledges to our Code of Ethics:
- I will honestly and accurately inform veterans and their families of their burial benefits. When representing a veteran or their family, I pledge to protect the interests of my clients like they protected my country.
- I will commit to improving my knowledge and continuing my education. I will help veterans and their families keep up to date with the latest benefit changes and information to provide the highest level of service.
- I will never forget the sacrifice each veteran and family I serve made for this country. I will give back by supporting veterans in my neighborhood through community service or donations.
- I will live my life with integrity, honoring the VFS values of service, knowledge, and gratitude.
As a Veteran’s Funeral Specialist, we provide:
Service
We are committed to doing work on behalf of veterans and their families. Not only do we provide a service to veterans, but we also vow to give back to the veteran communities in our neighborhoods. Furthermore, we believe in everyone’s right to a unique, meaningful end-of-life service.
Knowledge
We are always improving our knowledge of the current burial benefits aorded to veterans and their families. Our knowledge of burial benefits and the benefits claim process makes us leaders in our communities and informs our veterans’ educational content
Gratitude
We are grateful for our veterans and their families. (The sacrifices they made will never properly be repaid.) But we are also grateful for the opportunity to provide benefit and pre-planning information with respect. This gratitude is at the heart of each interaction.
